Simone Lupson-Cook and I went birding this morning at the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge's auto tour
and observed many of the usual species that frequent this area including,
one Rough-legged Hawk, Dunlin and many Ruddy Ducks
a Great Blue Heron eating a vole,
lots of juvenile Red-tailed hawks
We then continued our tour to the Woodland Bottoms via Dike Access Road
at the intersection of Dike Road and Caples Road
we observed 376 Sandhill Cranes
2 Great Egret
and 12 Great Blue Heron
all in close vicinity
it was fun
