Monday, December 22nd,?we sited about 108 Trumpeter Swans in three locations along Tualco Loop Road in Monroe. Two collared birds were among them, but we were unable to see the numbers. The ration of adults to juveniles was about two to one.? We also sited a flock of about 25 flying over us in Carnation, and another 4 birds sitting in a field by Carnation Farm on Carnation Farm Road, which makes about 137 swans. The eagles nest near Carnation Farm was occupied by the mated pair, getting ready for another season. Many thanks to my eagle-eyed companions, ten year old Owen Leslie and his octegenarian grandmother, Connie.
