A brief summary of high points from the Seattle CBC of last Saturday,
December 26. I was out of town but am compiling with near complete returns.
So far we have a near record high species total of 127 (the record is 128),
plus a count week California Quail (but no Ring-necked Pheasants).



Highlights include one Snow Goose, 8 Trumpeter Swans at three locations,
high counts of 94 Bald Eagles and 308 Anna's Hummingbirds, singles of
Redhead, Mourning Dove, Spotted Sandpiper, Thayer's Gull, Northern Shrike,
Townsend's Solitaire, Orange-crowned Warbler, Brewer's Blackbird,
Brown-headed Cowbird, and Red Crossbill, plus a Red-naped Sapsucker at
Discovery Park (continuing) and a White-throated Sparrow at the Woodland
Park Zoo. Five owls species (Barn, Western Screech, Great Horned, Barred,
and Saw-whet) is a nice total. A complete tally will appear in the next
