Nancy and Tweeters:

There was an inquiry about owling opportunities and resources. Below are my upcoming scheduled Owl Walks for Seattle Parks. I will also post an announcement for my New Year's Eve Beach walk in West Seattle. The owl walks will be a hoot! The beach walk has no pun, but it will be fun!

I can also arrange additional walks privately on request and may be posting additional walks that I would lead without the Parks Department.

Below are my upcoming scheduled Owl and Beach walks I am doing for Seattle Dept of Parks and Recreation:
All of these are a bargain at $8 for adults and $6 for kids!
Owl Hikes for Seattle Parks Department - Camp Long
(Course #49133) Saturday January 16 5pm - 7pm:
Join me on one of my famous owl hikes at Camp Long in West Seattle. We'll take a fun night hike through the deep dark forest to hoot for Barred Owls. We'll find their tell-tale droppings (white-wash) where they perch, possibly find a pellet or 2 and maybe determine what the owl ate the night before it was wretched up. We might even see one of the owls in our binoculars or scope, hear them, or both! Other owls are a slim possibility, no thanks to the Barred Owls. As always, it will be a hoot for you or your whole family! Bring binoculars and a flashlight (to use sparingly) if you want, or borrow ours. Dress for the weather.

Pre-registration is recommended to ensure a spot for this Seattle Parks Department program.
Call Camp Long at 206 684-7434 to pre-register as soon as possible as these programs often fill up fast.
Alternately you can pre-register on line

Low Tide Beach Walk at Mee Kwa Mooks (for Seattle Parks)
Help bring in the New Year with nudibranchs, seastars and sea squirts! Gather friends and family and share in the fun of exploring the fascinating world of intertidal life! Please wear very warm clothing and waterproof footwear. Also bring a flashlight if you have one or we will provide one for you. All ages welcome but must be able to walk on slippery seaweed! Please register one day before beach walk
