Subject: [Tweeters] Sandhill Cranes in Nebraska

My name is Susan Ahlschwede and I am a Nebraska native living in Olympia,
Wa. My husband Rob and I have been going to see the cranes on the Platte
River for 30 yrs. We have volunteered at Audubon's Rowe Sanctuary for 6 yrs.
I need to correct some of the information that has been posted here. We take
folks into the blinds at 5:30 a.m. & p.m before daylight savings time
changes and 6:30 a.m. & p.m. after it changes. Someone posted that the
blinds were available only in the evenings. This is incorrect. Another
posted the correct info.

I can only reiterate what Richard Rowlett posted: If you have never had this
experience, you need to get to there. May I invite you all to join us for
The Rivers And Wildlife Celebration, March 19-21. It is held at the Holiday
Inn in Kearney, Ne. There are amazing speakers at the meals and
bird/wildlife related break-out sessions all day on Saturday. Of course
there are trips into the blinds at Rowe Sanctuary available also.

If anyone is interested in making the trek to Nebraska, I would advise you
to go online and look at Rowe's website. It is:
Rowesanctuary.org. The telephone # is 308-468-5282. If you would like to
talk to either my husband or me, you can reach us at 360-866-1935. We would
be glad to answer questions. We love our cranes.
