Subject: [Tweeters] Bird talk at Seattle REI Monday

Hello all,

It's late notice, but maybe you are like me and check Tweeters while at
work. I'll be doing a talk on bird language tonight at REI in Seattle
(address below). It starts at 7 and goes until 8:45, free to all, and with
a bird i.d. game thrown in for good measure. Open up your ears to what the
birds are talking about, especially as spring gets underway. I tell people
it's more fun than soap operas. Where are the song sparrow territories?
How do they react when people walk by? What can birds tell you about where
cougars are in the woods? You have probably found owls by listening to
birds mobbing them; there are also subtler alarms happening all around us.

An example of "bird language" plus one of my audio clips is at
