Hi Tweeters,

Yes, I would have to agree with the low numbers of Rough legs this winter in the Okanogan and NE Oregon.

Numbers were much higher in 2007 and 2008 but this is based on my PERSONAL observations. I remember literally running into them without trying. Such cool raptors, nevertheless. This winter, I have seen less than a handful as much as I bird the Okanogan and Wallowas.

Anyhow, here is some niffy information on the bird's distribution, occurrence, and biological data.
