The male RUSTY BLACKBIRD continues to be seen at Turnbull NWR, Spokane Co.

It was found and photographed yesterday by refuge manager, Nancy Curry.

We saw it today.

It's along the paved walking trail around Pine Lake near where the trail
goes between Upper & Middle Pine Lake.

There's a little open water there. Most water is frozen.

The bird is often at water's edge. It seems very happy there, almost like
it is on territory.

I didn't hear it, but could see it was talking.

With the scope, I saw "pale-edged tertials" which the photo didn't pick up.

Park at the main restroom (closed) before getting to HQ.

We still have snow.



Also seen there were 15 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS & a couple otter.

Also the WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS were seen again yesterday at the Davenport
Cemetery in Lincoln Co.

When they are feeding they are very difficult to see. Look at every spruce
cone.
