Hello to tweeters,

It has been both very sunny and warm in the Olympia/Tumwater area this
week, getting to 60 degrees. These conditions prompted the emergence of our
early spring bumblebees: both Bombus melanopygus and B. vosnesenskii showed up
this week at my favorite patch of heath/heather (Erica darleyensis). If you
watch for these sunny days, above 50 degrees, between 2-4 pm, at a
well-established hedge of blooming heath in the sun, you may well see these queens.
