After a year and some being frustrated with my early issue 40D, I finally
broke down and bought a new one. I'm happy!

Spent Tuesday and Wednesday at Fort Flagler SP and Point Wilson, mostly in
the sunshine, trying it out. I was able to get birds in flight that have
left me totally frustrated before. And the 'way out there' ones like the
Common Murre are still way out there but now I can get them sharply enough
in focus to know what they are and occasionally even enough to post.

What I saw is nothing unexpected but just a lot of old friends, like the
buff's chasing each other and an otter looking cute. black was good, Black
Turnstones, Black Brant and Black-bellied Plover were plentiful at Flagler
along with Sanderlings and the ducks, Harlequin, Bufflehead, and Common
Goldeneye. At the point were a lot of stuff to far out most of the time for
the camera but as they say, 'Hope springs eternal'.

And I must mention the otter. He was funny. Don't miss his photos if you
check out the site below.
