Tweeters,
Spent several hours today on foot on Mt Erie and Sugarloaf Mountain, just NW of Mt Erie, hiking, looking and listening but could not find any Crossbills. Then, just as I was getting back to the car at the Erie Summit, I took a final look from the viewpoint that looks east, and there were 2 female WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS in the very top of the closest tree to the lookout. Got great looks in the binos and ran back up to the car to get the scope but they were gone by the time I got back to the lookout. Spent another 30 minutes in the area but could not relocate them.
Also was able to easily observe the female TUFTED DUCK on Lake Erie, just out from the parking lot on the south side of the lake.
