I have uploaded several images to my website since the last time I posted
here. I have traveled from Mountlake to Juanita to the Skagit and Samish
flats and to eastern Washington clicking away. I couldn't find the snowy owl
yesterday but the hawk-owl was present. I watched it for over an hour as it
made several forays from its perch but did not catch any prey. The
white-winged crossbills were at the Mansfield cemetery but only briefly and
at the very top of a fir tree (no photos). Last week I spotted a single blue
phase snow goose at the far edge of the Skagit flock of thousands. I am
determined to get pictures of it. The friendly peregrine falcon is
predictable on the Samish flats and hawks and eagles seem to be everywhere.
It is often hard to decide where to go!
