Tweets,

While somewhat off topic, I just learned that my book, A Zapotec Natural
History (University of Arizona Press, 2008), won first prize in the
anthropology/archaeology division of the 2008 PROSE awards (American
Publishers Awards for Professional and Scholarly Excellence. These awards
are sponsored by the Professional and Scholarly Publishing Division of the
Association of American Publishers).

The Zapotec languages are spoken throughout Oaxaca, Mexico, and this book
reports on my 15-year ethnobiological research project there. It's mostly
about people and plants but has sections on animals, including birds, and
fungi. It is published with an accompanying CD ROM that includes 1200
images, 120 sound clips, and all the technical details that wouldn't fit
into the print volume. This digital archive is accessible at my website,
http://faculty.washington.edu/hunn/zapotec.
