Hello birders,

Over the last few weeks I have seen plenty of winter plumage Pigeon
Guillemots in the waters off Lummi Island near Bellingham. Last Sunday I
drove to Deception Pass State Park and was surprised to see one in full
breeding plumage. I returned to Lummi Island the next day, and many of the
Guillemots there were in breeding plumage as well, with only a minority of
the birds I saw still in their winter coats. It was one week exactly
between my visits to Lummi, and I did not realize these birds achieved their
breeding plumage so quickly.

Just thought I'd share.
