today after an unenjoyable orthadontists appointment i decided to head
over to the fill to see if i could find anything to lighten me up.
the highlight of the day was five REDHEADS out on the lake. there
were two males and three females. here i met a woman named barbara.
we both enjoyed great looks at the redheads in perfect light. also on
the lake there were two flocks of at least ten Canvasbacks in each,
Trumpeter Swans, Common Goldeneye, Lesser Scaup, one Greater Scaup,
Ring-necked Ducks, American and Eurasion Wigeon, Common Merganser,
Horned grebe, and Pied-billed grebes. plus a bunch of Coots.

the second highlight was a pair of CINNAMON TEAL in the pond with all
the hooded mergansers. also there was some Green-winged Teal and an
ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER near a flock of Yellow-rumps.

other highlights included two Northern Pintails, Wood Duck, Lincolns
Sparrow, Mourning Dove, Belted Kingfisher, Ruddy Duck, and Wilsons
Snipe. Also saw Red-tailed Hawk, White-crowned and Golden-crowned
Sparrows, Marsh Wren, and Spotted Towhee.

It was a great trip to the fill and definately made my day.
