Neil,
The nest is within view of the boat ramp parking lot of the Skagit Game Range. Park at this lot and look back across the slough and the road on which you came in. The nest is quite conspicuous, and perhaps as much as 100 yards away, but a sitting owl may be difficult to see with binoculars only. I was there yesterday and looked briefly but didn't see an owl. No doubt this was due to me being lazy and not pulling out my scope.

Hello Tweeters, I have seen a couple of postings about a Great Horned Owl on a nest up on Fir Island. I am leading a trip up there on Saturday and nothing makes a leader look good like finding an owl. Any one have directions for me?
