Hi All,
On the annual Skagit Flats Winter Raptor Survey (14 February), our survey team had two Prairie Falcons in sight along Bayview-Edison Road at the same time, although they were about a half mile apart. They certainly saw each other.
Earlier in the week, on one of the hawk class field trips, we had a Prairie Falcon farther to the southeast near Josh Wilson and Avon-Allen Roads closer to the I-5 freeway.
So, no doubt about two, and I think there is a good chance there may be three around this year.
Becky Rosencrans and Andrea Warner had the gyr on Samish over several days after the count. Perhaps they will post their observations.
And finally, I have never seen so many peregrines on the Samish Flats in winter as there are this year. We had 8 observations on one field trip, I think the highest ever for me.
