Hi Tweeters,

We had a nice surprise yesterday at the Pittock Sanctuary in Portland. My wife
and I were admiring the usual feeder visitors, when a NORTHERN PYGMY-OWL flew in
and pretty much cleared the area. We had a beautiful view from about 4 feet
away, as it checked out the young rats that were cleaning up under the feeders.
It stayed close for several minutes, then flew to a nearby tree, and was still
there when we left.

It was nice to have my first ever NOPO be so close. Made the ID really easy.
