Hello Tweets,
Steve Caldwell and I made an unsuccessful attempt to find the Gyrfalcon and Prairie Falcon in and around Edison on the Skagit flats. However, along with multiple Merlins, two Peregrines and a lone Kestrel nearby, we did find an immature Northern Goshawk in Edison. It was quite well hidden in a dead tree until buzzed by a very active Merlin around 9:30 this morning, sending it into a nearby medium-sized willow where it hopped around several times in plain site. We ultimatly got nice looks at it at two locations in town...as it continued to be harassed by the Merlin.
Good birding,
