today's mystery bird is courtesy of Julie, a resident of Seattle, who is seeing some odd looking birds hanging around her hummingbird feeder. i thought you all might wish to talk to her a little bit about the bird in her picture as well as give her more information about anomalous plumages in resident hummers (she loves birds, but is not an expert birder like you guys are);
