Patricia et al,

I have 2 identical (to me) hummingbird feeder but they will only use one
until it is empty before they go to
the other one. I have even changed places with each other but they still
use only the one. I clean them together and fill them at the same time. They
have me baffled.

The hummingbirds seem to be boycotting my feeder this winter. They take a
quick taste once in a while and then fly away. Only in December, during the
bitterly cold weather, did they hang around and feed at length.
I am wondering if anyone has a thought about why this might be? It is a
sort of fancy glass feeder--might that be the problem? They have always
preferred the flowers in the summer, but last winter they used this feeder a lot. I
clean it once a week, by the way.
Thank you, tweets!
Patricia
