Hi, don't know if this has been posted on here, found it on facebook and thought it too funny to shareNow that we are awaiting migration, we may all find ourselves a bit in this compilation~~~I don't agree with some of these, as I love the, sparrows and the shorebirds we get are pretty good in a good scope, but the birdsongson Itunes........man do I have a boatload!!! birding by ear both east and west, Martyn Stewarts material, stokes stuffthe list goes on, then there is the music with birds in back ground, does that count???
1. You own at least two pairs of binoculars
2. You know the differences between the Empidonax Flycatchers
3. You plan you vacations with what kinds of birds you will be seeing
4. You think Cape May is Mecca, (or Jerusalem)
5. You spend $5,000 on an Alaskan vacation to see 1 bird
6. People think something is wrong with you because you're pishing
7. You think Peterson is your hero (I know he is!)
8. You think they should have the Cape May world series of birding on ESPN
9. You've done a book report on Peterson's field guides
10. You know every individual bird at your birdfeeder
11. Instead of partying on spring break, you go to High Island
12. You go to the doctor for warbler neck
13. Bird songs are on your itunes
14. You get frustrated with shorebirds because they look the same (not always)
15. You refer to sparrows as "LBJ's" and gulls as "the G word" (gulls.......well some are easy!)
16. You have a field guide for more than 1 country
17. Squirrels are your mortal enemy
18. You know what birds are singing in the background for movies and tv shows (my pet peeve the wrong bird in habitat!)
19. Your life list has at least 500 birds
20. You spent you money on a spotting scope and not an iphone (what good is an iphone???)
21. You only drink shade grown coffee (if you can anyway)
22. Waking up at 4am is no big deal
23. You ever got arrested for curfew because of owl prowling
24. You're brave enough for a Christmas bird count
25. You bring your binoculars to church during migration (and scope and camera also~~~but not just migration time!)
26. You take time off work because of spring migration27. You visit family in Kansas during migration at Cheyenne Bottoms (my addition!)~~ they get so Mad at me for this!!!
