Hi Tweets -
This afternoon I stopped at the mouth of the Cedar River in Renton
[King co] for some new year birding:

The PALM WARBLER found last month has stuck around -- it was actively
flycatching and bobbing around near the bathrooms well south of the
kayak place.

Among the gulls were:
3 GLAUCOUS GULLS - first, one that looked more like a 2nd winter
Glaucous Gull [w/o the fine markings], and then 2 first winter
Glaucous , both with a good amount of fine markings on the mantle and
tertials.

Also present were Thayers, Glaucous-winged, Herring, Western,
Ring-billed & Mew Gulls.

A SPOTTED SANDPIPER was working the logs around the mouth of the river too.

Good new year birding,
