Subject: [Tweeters] SNOW GEESE in Federal Way

The three previously reported SNOW GEESE in Twin Lakes/Federal Way are
still present. I watched them come in for a landing at Lake Jeane
yesterday in the late morning. Seems they were returning from a Sunday
Morning "brunch" on the golf course, accompanied by a bunch of their
Canadian cousins.They were also on the lake this early afternoon. This
morning a pair of BALD EAGLES, possibly the Dash Point State Park
breeding pair, were circling above the lake. One of them made a diving
attempt at lunch, fortunately for the waterfowl, it was unsuccessful.
It gave them a cheap thrill! What a sight though: the large eagle in a
dive with its talons extended! When last seen, the eagle was still
sitting in a shoreline tree, eyeballing the geese and ducks.

The Twin Lakes ( Lakes Jeane and Lorene) with Treasure Island Park,
can be quite productive for casual birding in the South End of
Seattle. Here is a list of yesterdays waterfowl:
