Hello to Tweeters,

David Hutchinson will be leading a talk about Anna's Hummingbirds on
Saturday February 7th at the auditorium at Nisqually Wildlife Refuge from noon
to 3:00 pm. This workshop is free, and all are welcome to attend. Many of
us now found ourselves blessed with winter hummingbirds, and there are a lot
of questions about these hummers and their range expansion. David has agreed
to lead the conversation about Anna's

David Hutchinson is a naturalist, birder and bookseller. He has led field
trips and classes for North Cascades Institute, Seattle Audubon Society,
Seattle Parks Dept. and the Orion Society. He has observed hummingbirds in the US,
Mexico and Ecuador and banded them at Point Reyes Bird Observatory. He is
currently the first volunteer land steward for Seattle's Discovery Park.
In 1981 he received a Frank M. Chapman grant from the American Natural
History Museum to run a study of the occurrence and behavior of Anna's
Hummingbird in the park and the feeders in the surrounding neighborhood of Magnolia;
this project involved two years of field work.
He brings to this workshop a wide range of experience & enthusiasm
about these exceptional birds.
