Sherry and I joined Lonnie Sommer for a trip up to the Skagit Game Range and Semiahmoo Spit. It rained all day with a slight break of drizzle when we walked the dike loop from the boat launch at the Skagit Game Range. The rain picked up when we left for Blaine.

On Fir Island ,there were lots of Trumpeter Swans scattered throughout the fields.
Hundreds of Snow Geese on the wing. They were definetly stirred up, probably due to all the Bald Eagles (30+) we saw in the area.
At the boat launch parking lot we had 1 Great Horned Owl, flocks of Pine Siskins, and Purple Finches.
We walked the dike that makes the loop and we saw 1 American Tree Sparrow feeding in the middle of the trail with Golden-crowned Sparrows and Dark-eyed Juncos.
Also we had a Brown Creeper in the same area.

Semiahmoo was very cold and rainy the entire time we were there. We had;
Long-tailed Ducks - 3
Ruddy Ducks
Brant
Harlequin Ducks - 5
Greater Scaup
Surf and White-winged Scoters
Common and Barrow's Goldeneyes
Red-breasted Mergansers
Red-necked Grebe - 1
Western Grebe - 1
Black Turnstones
Bald Eagle - 2
