Tweeters,

Greetings from South Carolina. Generally speaking, I don't make political
statements on bird forums, but this one must be answered. I am a long-time
birder, conservationist, and a member of the Democratic Socialists of America
(DSA). I promise you that our organization stands for protection of the
environment, as do our associated socialist organizations around the world. I
confess I know nothing of this situation in Venezuela, but it concerns me. The
socialism that I stand for does not destroy the environment. I invite any of
you who want more information about modern democratic socialism to visit the DSA
website: dsausa.org.

Carolina Bird Club

PS: Visiting Seattle February 7-14, hope to see some of you then. Have an
ambitious plan to drive from Seattle to the Okanogan Valley, will need your
advice.

I think it's pretty egregious and ignorant to chalk it up to
'socialism'.? Habitat destruction sadly is an evil found in any
government?- just look at how we're destroying the Rio Grande valley in the
name of 'Homeland Security'.
