In less than a mile on NE 124th across the Samammish Valley, Monday Jan. 12,
I enjoyed seeing the Rough-legged Hawk standing on the wheel of the
irrigation pipe, a male American Kestrel standing in a bare tree near the road, 2
Red-tailed Hawks sitting together in a tree east of the slough, and finally a
Belted Kingfisher perched in a large shrub, near the hawks. Lots of Canada
Geese and ducks in the flooded fields, too.
