Tom Aversa, Brad Waggoner and I birded up in Skagit today. We didn't
spend much time on Fir Island due to the fog, but ended up having
quite a nice day with quite a few highlights. I'll put pictures
online at the website below in a day or two.

'EURASIAN' GREEN-WINGED TEAL - 1 in the slough at Edison w ~30 GWTE
'EURASIAN X AMERICAN' GREEN-WINGED TEAL - 2 in the slough at Edison w
~30 GWTE. One had no vertical stripe with a minimal horizontal
stripe. The other had a minimal vertical stripe with an extensive
horizontal stripe.
TUFTED DUCK - Gary Bletsch's female continues on Lake Erie. I believe
this is just the second record for Skagit County, with the other also
being a female and also found by Gary, back in 1998.
Glaucous Gull - 1 first-year bird at the park in Allen
Thayer's Gull - 2 (adult & 3rd(?)-year) at the park in Allen, 1 adult
on Green Road
Herring Gull - 1 adult Green Road
Great Horned Owl - 1 Skagit Game Range
Short-eared Owl - 4 North Fork Access at dusk
Anna's Hummingbird - 1 Samish Island
MOUNTAIN CHICKADEE - 1 Samish Island at Samish Point Road / Samish
Island Road intersection
Northern Shrike - 1 Green Road, 1 Maupin Road
BLUE JAY - 1 continues on Valentine Road
American Tree Sparrow - 1 Game Range
'Slate-colored' Junco - 1 Game Range

Good birding,
