Hi Tweeters.

I was at Volunteer Park on Thursday afternoon and came across a large
scattering of woodpecker feathers. I gathered them up and brought them home
and took a bad picture of them with a ruler for all of you to look at and
tell me if they are Downy or Harry. The longer ones of the group measure
4.5 inches. I see the wing span measurements for each species in my Sibley,
but not the "top to bottom" length. Is there a way to tell which woodpecker
it is?

Anyone have suggestions for good feather ID books or online resources?

Thanks and Happy feather gathering...
