Hi Tweets-

This morning I was supporting a novice birder using his new binoculars for
the first time and we found a pair of Cinnamon Teal at the Arboretum. The
easiest way to describe where they were was to start the Foster Island Trail
and take it just beyond the first little observation platform. Scan the side
of the wooded small island on your right across from mouth of the bay
(called Duck Bay on the official map and runs parallel to the trail) and
look amongst the ducks. They were preening and resting with a group of
Mallards on a tiny peninsula on the island. There are a couple pairs of Wood
Ducks and a few Hooded Mergansers here as well.

Also, 11 Trumpeter Swans were seen from the end of Foster Island Trail
looking across the ship canal toward Windermere.

Good birding,

Alan
