Below is what Margaret Green sent me on Sat. Today (Sun.) around noon I checked it out and it is a beautiful hawk and I had it about 100 ft. west of this intersection sitting down low in a willow. It was very close to the road and good for photos for those who take pictures. I did not chase the chickadees.

"We had a group out today at Woodland bottoms and saw a Red Shouldered Hawk at Caples and Vista Drive. John saw it yesterday as well, in the same spot. Both days it was present between 2 and 3 pm. Also, at the boat launch at horseshoe lake, just east of the parking lot with the porta-pots we found 3 mountain chickadees in the pine!"

To get to this spot you can take the Dike Road along the Columbia River's edge and turn east onto Caples and watch on the north side for the small paved road called Vista Drive.
