Ah yes, the Okanogan roadkill dump.? Always good for eagles, magpies, and other opportunistic critters.? If you head north out of Omak towards Tonasket, watch for the place that the big powerlines cross the road, from the left (west) to the right (east).? Close to that point there is a road off to the left (west) which used to be the roadkill dump, and has a few tall pines that occasionally have raptors.? The current dumping spot is north of that, on the right (east) and there is a pullout.? It's actually north of Riverside, and south of South Pine Creek.? Usually plenty of balds there.

I've often wondered why I often see eagles on the tall poles about half-way between Omak and Tonasket. Last night I found out.

There is a spot just off the road where they dump road killed deer and other animals. I got directions to the location and will try to find it this week. When I find it, I'll post specific directions.

I was thinking today that places like that would be nice to have permanent blinds for viewing.

Best wishes,
