Tweets - Matt Bartels, MaryFrances Mathis, Tom Mansfield, and I finished up
our southeast Washington trip today. Here are some of today's highlights:

In the cemetery in Pomeroy, Garfield Co., we had a dozen or more
WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS feeding on the ground and in Douglas Firs. Once
again, I believe this is a county first. In our 4-day trip, we had
White-winged Crossbills at 4 locations in 3 counties! Unbelievable.

In Central Ferry Park (Whitman Co.) we had about 30 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS.

At Lyons Ferry, we were able to find at least 1 WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILL in
the same spruces where they were present on Friday. In the fish hatchery
area, we had a male MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD, a RED CROSSBILL, and a small flock of
WILD TURKEYS.

This trip was originally intended to try to see common winter ducks, etc.
We had much less success with that goal than we did with finding unusual
species (not that we're complaining - it was a very good trip!)
