Hi Tweeters,

Gorgeous day for birds! I spent about an hour at Constellation park today (a little south of Alki beach in
West Seattle), and saw RED-THROATED LOONS, up close and personal, right off shore from the light
house. My first for King County! Also present were red-necked grebes, red-breasted mergansers,
brants, black turnstones, sanderlings, and a marbled murrelet, among others. The lighthouse on Alki is
up there with Discovery Park for me as far as reliably good birds; if I have only a little time, I can count
on parking and nice water birds.
