Hi tweets, 15 of us from Tacoma returned from our annual 3 day trip to
N-C Washington. Birding was generally slow finding target birds infrequently.
The weather varied from dense fog, waterville plateau & Cameron Lake to
bright sunshine in Havillah and Conconully, with mild temperatures. Havillah
in the sunshine, with exceptional lighting is just spectacular.

We were pleased to run into the Riley's from Seattle. First meeting was on
the plateau admiring the first of many Bohemian Waxwings. This very
pleasant family with 2 exceptional boys, Sam and Zack. We all marveled
at the parents sharing time with the boys, birding and enjoying the beauty
of central washington. We met them again at the Hwy. 17, N. Hawk Owl
spot, dipping of course. They had car trouble. We were able to jump the
battery, when they decided to accompany us for 1.5 days. The parents
spotted our only 2 Pine Grosbeaks, lucky for us. We also enjoyed seeing
Meredith Spencer again, her local, lastest information, helped us lock in
on several targets.

C. Redpoll, 200, 50 Bolster rd., 80 Molson rd., 70 Oroville-Chesaw rd.

Dipped on Goshawk, Gyrfalcon, Tree Sparrow and Snow Buntings.
Rileys had a large flock of Snow Buntings near Atkins Lake.
