Dear Tweeters,

So, which gull book should I get first?

I have the old Grant gull book, with the black-and-white photos.

That leaves, as far as I can tell, two other contenders. One is sold under the Peterson label. It's by Howell and Dunn, "Peterson Reference Guide to the Gulls of the Americas."

Then there's a book that I don't even see in my latest ABA catalogue. It's the one by the Scandinavians that came out around 2003. I believe it coveres the Holarctic, which is more than Howell and Dunn? Isn't this the book that came out with huge numbers of corrections uncorrected, and then the publishers asked for the books back, to be replaced by a new edition? Is this book good, and is it still available?

Thanks, Tweeters, for your thoughts on this.

Yours truly,
