At about 12:30 pm today, I observed an immature GREATER WHITE-FRONTED
GOOSE closely associating with a CACKLING GOOSE on Lake Jeane - Twin
Lakes/Federal Way. The White-Front still had a "dirty" face and no
"speckles". Both birds were not banded. I always wonder why geese are
always associating with other goose species? During the recent snow, I
had three Snow Geese hanging out with the local flock of Canada Geese.
I wonder if there is a study on this behavior? Birds of a feather....
