Dear Tweeters,

Today I was able to relocate Joel Brady-Power's female Black Scoter at March Point. This was only my third one in Skagit--an oddly difficult species here. The bird was with Surf Scoters in Fidalgo Bay, visible from the Turnstone spot. This is the paved pullout with a small boat dock that is chained off and signed "no camping." There were also two Black Turnstones on the pier directly south of here.

At the Game Range, I was able to relocate the American Tree Sparrow. It was with Oregon Juncoes again. The Great Horned Owl pair started hooting at 1627. These birds are in the thicket behind the slough that flows from one parking area to the other.

At the North Fork Access was a single Short-eared Owl.
