Hi Tweeters,

My guess was wild cats (bobcat and cougar) and I was right but also as some mentioned coyote and fox. I googled woodpecker decoy and one of the first results is a youtube video of a different type of woodpecker decoy. Not all the users of these are hunters, some are photographers and others are those that are willing to bring nature close to them by a bit of deception.
