Tweets, Monday midday I made a dash for the coast where I found my target
bird: ROCK SANDPIPER (at least 10!) on the Ocean Shores jetty. The other
notable bird was a BLACK OYSTERCATCHER, but not much else. En route I
covered Brady Loop where there were TUNDRA and TRUMPETER SWANS, SNOW GEESE,
and an interesting assortment of (skittish) "white-cheeked" geese of various
sizes and shades. Just west of Elma I passed a gorgeous milk chocolate brown
buteo next to the freeway, but too much velocity to ID for sure. Good
birding!
