Hi all,

Northern Flickers which show intergrade characteristics also nest on Vancouver Island and in coastal inlets north of the Sunshine Coast. This isn't common, but it's not rare either.

Although the actual contact zone between red and yellow-shafted flickers may be relatively narrow, the area west of the Rocky Mountains in BC where nesting Northern Flickers can show intergrade characters, is massive.
