today's mystery bird, courtesy of Marcel Gahbauer and his trusty scanner, is a departure from the usual and should give you a new appreciation for that the people at the smithsonian are experiencing at this very moment as they work on identifying the bird(s) that recently brought down the USAirways plane in the Hudson River;
