This evening my wife and I took a leisurely walk at the CUH. Just after
passing a Bald Eagle perched high in a tree, a Virginia Rail FLEW over the
trail and landed in the marshy area near the water. Later, while walking on
the trail at the western most pond, a series of black fuzz balls streaked
across the trail from the meadow side towards the pond, followed by a series
of kik-kiks from a parent. I was able to see at least four of these black
fuzz balls with yellow beaks with a vertical black stripe on them scoot
across a small opening by the pond.
