More shorebirds showing up at the 12th street NE ponds on Smith Island. This afternoon saw 17 Lesser Yellowlegs, 3 or 4 Greater Yellowlegs, single Killdeer and Spotted Sandpiper, and a scattered number of Peeps. Also a single Dowitcher, which being mostly rusty underneath was a Long-billed I suppose.

Driving there I spotted a big adult Coyote in the field before the marina - it had just been mowed ( I was following the mower as it pulled out of the field) so the Coyote was probably looking for exposed voles ect.

On a rare trip to Seattle I stopped off at the Fill. Pretty quiet mid-day, but a dozen or more Least Sandpipers allowed close approach. Them city birds noticeably tamer than up here in the wilder Snohomish Delta.
