Tom Walker and I visited Three Forks Park this morning in Snoqualmie. Once
again, the INDIGO BUNTING did not disappoint (though it can be frustrating
trying to get that first visual!) This gem was busy singing and defending
territory between the 'back left' and 'back right' corners of the large
field located just beyond the Snoqualmie Valley Trail. While we had scope
views of one singing male in a tall cottonwood bordering the field, I
thought I heard a second, paired-noted bunting song in the distance. Lazuli
Buntings, an adult Bald Eagle, and great views of Common Yellowthroat,
American Goldfinch, and Black-headed Grosbeak rounded out another quick but
productive visit to this extraordinary park!
