Greetings Tweeters,

I spent a couple of hours Wednesday afternoon along the shoreline between the base of Damon Point and along the game range towards the Ocean Shores Sewage Treatment Plant. The weather was generally crappy, with sustained onshore winds and rain showers. It took me all of two hours, but I finally located the QUEEN EIDER all the way back near my starting point and near the base of Damon Point, in the area of submerged/ exposed rocks further to the east than other reports. Also in this same area was a male, alternate plumaged LONG-TAILED DUCK. There were very good numbers (in the thousands) of shorebirds moving around the game range (it was close to high tide). A very worn BAIRDS SANDPIPER was along the strand lines on the open sand. Also of note were two TUFTED PUFFIN, and a single CASSINS AUKLET, both were out in the channel and perhaps perhaps driven into the harbor by the sustained onshore winds. All in all some nice stuff for a short time out in some rather marginal conditions.
