Brenda, Have you considered,also, Mink? This has a reddish brown coloration, looking not much like the colour portrayed in the field guides. It is also about the right size and occurs in rip-rap areas near water, as at Nisqually Refuge. Young River Otters occur at West Point and Long-tailed Weasels nearby DH
