Sherry and I did some hiking at Mt. Rainier, Sunrise side. We started up the trail and followed Sourdough Ridge over to Frozen Lake and then continued up to Mt. Fremont. The day was still early enough, that when we came back down from Mt. Fremont, we headed over into Berkley Park. We stayed on the Wonderland Trail for a few more miles before returning back to Sunrise. The wildflowers were fantastic, especially seeing all the Lupines. The hillsides were covered in blue with them.

>From Sunrise to Frozen Lake we saw;
Red-tailed Hawk - 1
Mountain Bluebird
Clark's Nutcracker
Mountain Chickadee - 1
American Pipit
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Fox Sparrow - 1
Chipping Sparrow
Dark-eyed Junco
Red Crossbill - 1
Pine Siskin

On the trail to Mt. Fremont we saw;
Raven
Clark's Nutcracker

On the Wonderland Trail into Berkley Park we saw;
Rufous Hummingbird - lots
American Robin
Townsend's Solitaire - 1
Horned Lark - 1
American Pipit
Gray-crowned Rosy Finch - 2 (1 finch was at the begining of the trail near Frozen Lake in the late afternoon)

Another bird to note were 8 Turkey Vultures. (1 over Packwood and 7 across from the RV Camp between Randle and Packwood)
