Tweets,

Yesterday Nancy and I rode our bikes from North Bend to Duvall with stops at
Three Forks Natural Area and Stillwater. At Three Forks we saw two different
male LAZULI BUNTINGS plus two juveniles near our first male. Then we heard
and saw in the distance the male INDIGO BUNTING which eluded closer
observation. At the same spot I had a brief but clear view of what I believe
was the LEAST FLYCATCHER, though it was silent. At Stillwater at the
redstart nest site we ran into Doug Parrott as he was leaving and watched at
least one female or juvenile AMERICAN REDSTART foraging near the nest site.
I am fairly certain there were two or even three female-plumaged redstarts
here (chasing about in the thick foliage), though I never was able to get
more than one individual in clear view at any one time. In any case, the
one(s) I did see well seemed in fresh plumage, which might possibly suggest
a bird of the year. Sure would like to pin down if they nested successfully,
but the mosquitoes discouraged more persistent observation.
